Toga Group Expands Medina Operations in Melbourne Medina, the serviced apartment brand of the Toga Group, has moved swiftly to alleviate the problems of apartment owners of Southern Cross Suites at St Kilda, Melbourne, as a a result of the appointment of an administrator to the operator.
Medina has secured a long term lease of the 82 apartment property at 157 Fitzroy Street, previously known as the Maddison, and will re-brand the building as Medina Executive St Kilda.
The expansion brings the total number of Medina apartments in Melbourne to 360, and follows recent take-overs under similar circumstances by Medina of serviced apartment properties in other capital cities. The Fitzroy Street property was developed in two stages over the last 5 years by developer Hudson Lakes and 40 of the apartments were completed less than a year ago. Hudson Lakes director Paul Yates said he was delighted that a major national group was taking over the operation and said that apartment owners in the building were looking forward to the security and stability of income that the Medina brand will create for them.
The property has a selection of studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments and offers a spa and gym with a collection of independently operated restaurants in the building a great draw-card.
Taking the number of properties across the country to 20 nationally as Medina have just opened the brand new Medina Grand Perth this month. This property will offer 138 apartments and is located onsite at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre
